ABOUT US

A Forest Home Steeped in Story, Now Ready for Yours.
Our mission is to provide a welcoming, nature-rooted gathering space that honors community, creativity, and connection.
At The Pines in Plum Valley, we offer our old family home and land as a sanctuary for celebration, learning, and togetherness — supporting events that nurture the human spirit, uplift local voices, and cultivate joy across generations.
-The Adkisson Family
Our Story
At the start of the millennia, a family of seven came to Klamath Falls looking for a place to call home.
The parents, Jeni and Wayne Adkisson, hoped to raise their children outside of a traditional neighborhood where they could wander in nature to their hearts content, create entire worlds from their imagination, and learn the skills necessary to become engaged and connected members of the world through play, home education, and community gathering. In 2001, child number six arrived and the Adkisson family was complete. Weekend long sleepovers, huge birthday parties, whole team gatherings, magical holiday celebrations, and visits from family and friends were unmatched due to the size of the family, the land and the house, and the ability of the "crazy Adkisson 8" to host any kind of celebration with joy, inclusivity, and whimsy. While the plan wasn't to stay beyond ten years, the familys' connection to the Klamath Falls community and Southern Oregon grew strong and firmly rooted.
After twenty-six years, here we are. We understand the challenges this region faces as well as the unparalleled beauty of the place and its people. We care deeply for this community and want to bring all of our passions, skills, and services to the people of Klamath Falls and beyond. There is infinite opportunity for engagement between local vendors, artisans, activists, business owners, farmers, musicians, food providers, spiritual leaders, and educators. We dream of providing a place where all can gather and learn from one another while eating good food, dancing, and dreaming of a more beautiful world. In a place with limited affordable, accessible, and picturesque event spaces, we would like to offer the land we were raised on to continue to serve the community in a multitude of ways. Within our family we have community organizers, a law professional, an audio-visual expert, an air-force veteran, artists and musicians, chefs, caretakers, a natural healer, a sustainability consultant, dancers, builders, landscapers, nurses, and event planners.
Join us and add your story to ours. We welcome you to The Pines!
